TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — On June 4, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed two bills aimed at enhancing background screening requirements in public education and updating insurance obligations for commuter rail providers.

Welty's mobile home lost its roof during Hurricane Milton. She said it was the only one in the Buena Vista community to get totaled by a tornado.
